The position of ICZN secretary has been filled by Dr. Gwynne Lim. She started in February 2018.
To continue to serve the taxonomic community and to work for the stability of names in zoology, the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature is seeking a motivated individual with the relevant expertise and skills to fill the position of its Executive Secretary.

Following elections during the month of February 2016, Commissioners Pape and Harvey were been elected as President and Vice-President of the ICZN, respectively. Also, the London Office of the Secretariat will close from 1 April 2016. The full announcement is available as a PDF file.
- Nomenclatural availability of preliminary electronic versions of taxonomic papers: in need of a clear definition by A. Dubois, R. Bour & A. Ohler.
- Electronic publications need registration in ZooBank to be available by F.-T. Krell & T. Pape.
- The ‘Manual for proposing a Part of the List of Available Names in Zoology’ (in short: the Manual) was prepared by a Committee composed of three Commissioners (Miguel Alonso-Zarazaga, Philippe Bouchet, Richard Pyle) and an invited member (Nikita Kluge). It was thoroughly reviewed and commented by the Head of the ad-hoc Committee on the proposed candidate part LAN for the species-group taxa of Rotifera, Daphne Fautin. The final draft was further reviewed, corrected and finally approved in the Singapore meeting of the ICZN, on November 20th 2013.
New Commissioners of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN) will be elected during the IUBS Congress in Berlin in December 2015. Practicing taxonomists with a strong background and publication record in taxonomy and nomenclature are invited to apply. It is equally important that candidates are proactive in their involvement with the Commission, particularly in terms of re-defining the role of the Commission in the 21st Century.
